3 DAY GORILLA SAFARI TO BWINDI NATIONAL PARK - UGANDA
The 3 days Uganda gorilla safari starts and ends in Kampala. However, we can start in Kampala and end in Kigali or vice-versa. Below is the proposed day-by-day itinerary.
Day 1: Kampala To Bwindi National Park
Pick up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe Airport by our professional English speaking tour guide and, hit the road to western Uganda. En-route stopover at the Equator for photographs, lunch in Mbarara town (Igongo Cultural Center) before continuing through the Kigezi region, famously known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, characterized by Majestic rolling hills, deep valleys and winding roads. Dinner and overnight any accommodation of your choice, for example; Rushaga Gorilla Camp, Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, Mahogany Springs Lodge or Broadbill Forest Camp.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Experience
Start early with heavy breakfast at the lodge, assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park. You must be physically fit to go gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest. The trek takes 2 to 7 hours depending on the movement of these Gentle Giants in their natural habitat! Highly recommended to hire a porter during the hike; he gives a hand, and he can carries your packed water and lunch. This is one way gorilla tourism creates employment opportunities to the local communities.
 
The thrill of encountering these gentle Giants in their natural habitat offers a lifetime adventure experience, and erases all the poor memories you went through while searching for them. A maximum of one hour is allowed with the gorillas to take pictures and videos.Advisable to always keep a distance of 7 meters from the gorillas, and always listen to instrctions from the ranger.
Late lunch at the lodge, take a community walk in the evening before dinner, or drive to the beautiful Lava dammed lake of wonders; Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale, overnight stay at Bird Nest resort or Bunyonyi Rock Resort or Bunyonyi overland resort.
Day 3: Reserved For Departure
Breakfast followed by either drive back to Kampala / Entebbe Airport for your departure flight (8-hour drive), or connect to Kigali International Airport in Rwanda through Katuna border (3-hr drive).
